It was a rainy day. (In fact, it had been raining for several days.) By 6 PM the sore throat was more than unpleasant. By 7 PM the headache had got much worse. At 8 PM I was shivering. At 9 PM I took my temperature. 39 degrees Celsius. At 10 PM I almost fainted. (Had I been talking nonsense until then?)
The next day I went to see the doctor. I got the same old (but perhaps effective) medicine he has been prescribing for the last 20 years. And I got 5 days of sick leave. All this for only 300 HUF!
Anyway, that’s not the point. The point is, this is how I could find some spare energy (well, time, rather than energy) to get started with the blog. The English Log.
I had incredible plans. What games and activities to put up here, what links to share, what stories to write, while lying in bed with a “nice cup of tea” (just to be culturally impeccable — I never have tea, except when I’m seriously ill) and my laptop. Well, reality will be a bit gloomier: I have 10 more minutes to go before the battery runs flat…
Anyway, I hope you will find something useful, whether you’re a teacher, a student of English or an English speaker, bumping into englog= English Log, The (ELT for short).
Happy browsing!
Any comments?
